Rooted in Halton Hills for nearly three decades — a coach, volunteer, beekeeper, business owner, and neighbour.
For nearly three decades, Daniel has built his life, family, and identity in Halton Hills. What began as a young couple putting down roots has grown into a deep, enduring commitment to the people, organizations, and landscapes that make this community unique. His story is one of steady service — sometimes visible, often quiet — shaped by a belief that strong communities are built by those willing to show up, lend a hand, and take responsibility for the place they call home.
Daniel's involvement in Halton Hills began on the playing fields and ice rinks where so many local families spend their evenings and weekends. Over the past ten years, he has coached with the Georgetown Soccer Club, helping young athletes develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience. His coaching continued with Halton Hills Thunder, where he supported youth hockey players through their early development. At the Acton Curling Club, he became an instructor for the Little Rocks program, introducing children to curling and fostering a welcoming environment for families discovering the sport for the first time. He also volunteers with the First Shift Hockey Program, ensuring that more children have access to the game regardless of background or experience.
His commitment to service extends far beyond sports. For eight years, Daniel served as an Executive Board Member with the Knights of Columbus Pieta Council 6026 at Holy Cross Parish, contributing to charitable initiatives, parish events, and community outreach. He also served as an Executive-at-Large on the Acton Curling Club board, helping guide the organization's operations and long-term planning. As Co-Chair of the Knights of Columbus Charity Golf Tournament, he helped raise support for Special Olympics, the Bob Rumball Foundation, and Community Living Halton Hills — organizations that strengthen the fabric of the region.
Daniel's connection to the land runs just as deep. As a registered beekeeper with OMAFRA and a member of both the Ontario Beekeepers' Association and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, he understands the delicate balance between agriculture, conservation, and responsible land use. His work with bees has given him a firsthand appreciation for the natural systems that sustain rural communities — and the importance of protecting green spaces, farmland, and local ecosystems.
Professionally, Daniel brings a strong foundation in business leadership and operational management. He has run several businesses, gaining experience in entrepreneurship, financial stewardship, and long-term planning. His employment history includes working within unionized environments and serving in operations management for a multibillion-dollar corporation, where he learned the importance of accountability, efficiency, and clear communication. Today, he is also a multi-property Airbnb owner-operator registered with the Newfoundland Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation. Through his businesses, he has sponsored local hockey and soccer teams and golf tournaments, reinvesting directly into the community that has supported him.
Daniel also carries a deep understanding of the challenges faced by seniors and those living with mental-health concerns. Through personal experience and community involvement, he has seen how dignity, compassion, and accessible support can transform lives. He believes strongly in the importance of programs that help seniors remain active, connected, and respected within their communities.
Behind all of this is Daniel's family — the anchor of his life. He has been married to his high-school sweetheart for 17 years, and together they are raising two children who have grown up in the same community that shaped their parents. After 28 years in Halton Hills, Daniel's connection to the region is not just personal; it is generational.
Across all of these roles — coach, volunteer, beekeeper, business owner, board member, and neighbour — Daniel has remained a steady presence in Halton Hills.
